The Doug-Out was in great need of a "face-lift" and CCFSC has been very fortunate to receive the support of The Home Depot with the renovations of the Doug-Out and the Caretaker home. With the leadership of Raul Magana, Store Manager for Store #610, and Jhenny Archiquette, District Manager for the Home Depot, they formed a "Team Depot" composed of over 70 associates to tear down and remodel both the Care-taker and Doug-Out homes. The Grand Re-Opening of the Doug-Out was held on March 15, 2009.

The Doug-Out project received the Building Committee Award. There are 2,500 stores who participated and only 18 stores received recognition. The Home Depot Store #610 was the only winner in the 80 Pacific South Home Depot Stores to receive the award. With this recognition they donated $4,000.00 to Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern California.

We would like to thank the entire team for their dedication, not only to the Home Depot but to all the children with cancer that we serve through the Doug-Out.

his battle to cancer in 1982.
